Ryan Williams is Running for President (Live from the Telluride Mushroom Festival)

Hi everyone! I recently performed at the 45th Telluride Mushroom Festival’s MycoLicious MycoLuscious MycoLogical Poetry Show, as the Mushroom King. I talked about surviving C-PTSD, hatched from an egg, and announced my platform for President in 2028.

The forest appointed The Mushroom King and I performed for hundreds of lovely mushroom-loving, mycophilic, and lovely people in Telluride. Like the cordyceps in The Last of Us, the mushrooms have hijacked my nervous system, and they are forcing him to become: The Mushroom King.

I don't want to live in Los Angeles anymore. I'm in a dystopian world. I'm on the edge of Armageddon every week, and no one's listening to me.  The Mushroom King is loved in the multiverse, yet my talents are still making their way down in the multiverse to the planet Earth. My work has not yet transferred all the way down to the people of Earth. 

I need your help to tell our story. Are you willing to help me? I would like to ask you one more time, are you willing to help me? 

I suffered from C-PTSD complex post-traumatic stress disorder. I know it’s getting serious for a minute, sorry about that. When the human species let me down, the fungal kingdom was there for me. The entire fungal kindom of life was there for me. Yet, the human species let me down. 

People who've survive C-PTSD have survived genocide and slavery. Again, I know it’s serious, talking about slavery is not a crowd pleaser. I get it. Again, I'm just The Mushroom King, don't kill the messenger. C-PTSD survivors have also incurred on-going domestic violence, on-going physical and sexual violence as child. I did not survive genocide, I did not survive slavery, I did not survive on-going domestic violence, I’ll let you be the judge of what happened to me.

It’s a miracle that I am here!

I am at the Telluride Mushroom Festiva to reenact my birth as The Mushroom King, when I was born. I hatched from the egg with you, and with the help of the mycelial network. (Watch the video for the hatching)

I am announcing that I am running for President as Ryan Williams, The Mushroom King, in 2028! 

The mycelial network is thousands of years ahead of us in time, so they rigged it for me. I am going to win with or without you on my side. I have three platform ideas that I would love your feedback on:

• Guaranteed healthcare + natural medicine
• Guaranteed housing
• Guaranteed public transportation (high speed rails, subways, and metros)

I will be running for President as the Mushroom King, Ryan Williams. I need your help. Are you with me? As you watch me hatch, I am here for everyone, including the great people of Telluride.
