About
Like the cordyceps fungi in The Last of Us, the fungi have hijacked Ryan Williams’ nervous system, forcing him to listen to the mushrooms, telling their story to the world. He is their puppet and he has created l.a. mushrooms.
The first of its kind, decentralized human mycelial comedy network, focusing on the creation of artistic and commercially viable works centered on theater, live events, audio, video, merchandize, and novels.
On the l.a. mushrooms podcast, Ryan welcomes comedians, actors, directors, writers, musicians to discuss their relationship with mushrooms. Ryan’s conversational interview style gives guests a place to discuss how they are connected to the mycelial network, which will be completely new to listeners. Past guests: Willie Geist, Jemele Hill, Harrison Barnes, Adam Grant, and Seth Godin.
Listen to the l.a. Mushrooms podcast on iTunes, Spotify, and wherever you listen to podcasts.
What is mushroom comedy?
- Mushroom comedy heals ourselves individually, as we return to the collective to play, connect with the planet, and perform comedy aimed at rebuilding the modern world.
- A comedy form that remakes our society through storytelling.
- We say absurd things that can only be spoken as reality-based comedy environments
- Mushroom comedy focuses on spiritual growth of both the performers and the audience
